2015 is Off to a Great Start!

Hot Joggle, Joggle, Hand Form, & Check and Straighten

One of the lesser know services we offer, but one of the busiest areas of our manufacturing space, is our "A-Fab" department. We have an entire department with well trained craftsmen who specialize in joggle, both hot and cold, check and straighten, hot forming of aluminum profiles to introduce contour, angle, and compound bends, as well as hand forming and bump forming of profiles. 

These experts are well versed in working with light and heavy extruded profiles. Taking heavily machined profiles and bending, tweaking, and working them into machine tolerance spars, ribs, stringers, and more. 

At Techniform we are just as capable as forming and working small sheet metal details and reverse engineering utilizing spares for aircraft repair or AOG type work.

Our Newest Machining Center

We've been busy growing... and we just haven't had time to show you one of our newest pieces of equipment to go online. 

 Our new Mazak CNC Machining center has been designed and custom built for us for the machining of curved extrusions and steel shapes. This multi-axis machining center, built to our specs, takes into account the complexity of curved and formed profiles so that our customers that choose to have us manufacture complete, will receive the best possible formed and fabricated product.

Shown in the picture above, we are machining a large transom extrusion for a new high-rise going up in Manhattan. The extrusion is being detailed to accept angled verticals and conical curved glass. No easy feat, but Techniform has the ability to deliver.

Glassbuild America 2014 Las Vegas

Glassbuild America 2014 is in the history books! 

Some of us are still playing catch up.. be it emails and stacks of paperwork... or just sleep... from exhibiting at Glassbuild America in Las Vegas. 

This is one of our favorite shows to attend, not just because it's in Vegas, but because we get to see so many of our customers, our vendors and partners. The turn out at this years show not only saw an uptick in numbers, but in the outlook of the industry. We are having a great year in 2014 and it's because a lot of you guys seeing things pick up yourselves. We certainly are not in a booming economy, but things are finally being built once again and compared to the last show, we could see it on the faces of the attendees. 

While we love shaking hands with our customers, meeting those we've only talked to over the phone and email, etc... I will admit that another reason we love the shows in Vegas is because of the nightlife and the food. Our team hit two new to us spots that are now on our "must go back" list. If you've never had a burger from Gordon Ramsay's BurGR you are missing out. Try the Farm Burger. The other was Wicked Spoon. It's typical Las Vegas buffet crossed with gourmet cultural cuisine. I tasted more things that night than I had all year, and I'm certain I ate the entry price in deserts alone. 

Of course the entry price of the Glassbuild show is really all about showing off your companies capabilities and products and Techniform has shined this year. The leader in curved metal and metal bending and forming and morphed into the leader in full metal fabrication services. 

We can provide bending and forming, to full cnc machining, curtain wall and architectural metal fabrication, sheet metal, kitting, and post finishing from anodize to wet and powder kynar finishes, and polishing. We can provide complete ready to assemble units or minor assemblies.

I just have to say, it's pretty awesome seeing something we had a hand in doing battle on the big screen...
